Extension of a school building

A BIM model was used to update the existing as-built data for the planned extension of a school building.

The level of detail 300 and the associated model element matrix are usually agreed on a project-specific basis for the approval phase.

The details

The model elements are further refined in LOD 300. Building physics calculations can be carried out model-based and component layers can be specified in the model. Structural elements and their connections are precisely dimensioned and their construction is represented in detail in the model. The systems of the building services are also calculated and precisely dimensioned. The routes are represented as systems consisting of

pipes and ducts as well as fittings are available in the model.
